Abandoned, lonely, often forlorn, how can places seem so sad and neglected? What makes a ghost town a ghost town?
We explore some lost settlements and what happened to them, really. Sometimes it's a loss of income and prosperity, other times, something more destructive and very final. Whether the town died out, pardon the pun, or came to a catastrophic end, it's a tale worth telling and we say, put on your safety goggles and your hiking boots!
